GLP-1 medications (such as tirzepatide or semaglutide) have transformed weight management — but they are not for everyone. We follow a strict safety screening process before initiating any therapy. Here’s what that looks like:

  • Initial Health Evaluation: A comprehensive consultation with our board-certified Nurse Practitioners.

  • Required Lab Work: Before any medication is prescribed, baseline lab work is mandatory to evaluate:

    • Kidney and liver function

    • Thyroid health

    • Blood glucose and A1C

    • Lipid panel

    • CBC and electrolytes

Safe Prescribing at TrimTone Telehealth

Lab Testing Requirements

All patients must complete labs prior to treatment and every 3–6 months thereafter while on treatment. This helps us:

  • Monitor for early signs of side effects

  • Track your metabolic improvements

  • Adjust your dose safely over time

  • Ensure continued eligibility

We’ll guide you on where and how to get labs done—whether through Quest, LabCorp, or your primary care provider.

Our program is supervised by a Board-Certified Physician with over 20 years of clinical experience in obesity and weight management medicine. Together with our Nurse Practitioners, our Medical Director:

  • Reviews all clinical protocols and lab results

  • Oversees medication approvals
